Well it wasn't an actual rescue, but for a while I thought I'd be needing one. I was the windsurfer (briefly) out today. My first reach from the launch was great but when I went to gybe on the far side my (improperly tightened) mast foot slipped in the track and separated the sail from my board. At first I thought I would have to ditch the rig and paddle back, but after some wrangling I was able to get it all put back together.
Thanks to the kiter who stopped by to ask how I was doing.
By the time I had everything muscled back together I was POOPED!. The ride back to launch was fine but I was completely out of breath the whole way. I thought I could just hangout at the beach for a bit and rest up but my legs were cramping and I decided to just call it a day. One and done! At least I had a great session yesterday.
Anyway, thanks again for checking up on me. Nice to know that even if I may be the only windsurfer, I'm not actually sailing alone. |
