Working BRIDGE OF THE GODS has been awesome. It's about kiting in perfect fresh water conditions. It's also about naming a new Champion!

The posters for the Kite Blowout seem to indicate that windsurfers are invited also.
Will they have their own class or be put on teams with the kiters?

Definitely stoked! My favorite event of the year!

I'll also have some Best gear at the event if anyone wants to give it a try - just find me, I won't be hard to find Wink

Stoked windsurfers are back in the blowout!

There are awards for the first 3 guys and the first 3 girls regardless of what they are riding - kite or windsurfer. Additionally, everyone will be randomly assigned a team composed of both kiters and windsurfer and there are awards for the first 3 teams (all members). We also have some fun awards.

We also will be having a windsurf freestyle and strapless division on Friday with awards.

Is the event still on? Forecast doesn't look promising.

Forecast actually looks great for Pros, Ams and Blowouters.

Fri, Jul 25 2014
Western Gorge (Jones Beach to Stevenson): Cloudy skies early for Jones, more scattered around Stevenson. As mentioned above, the morning marine layer can help here as the skies clear, enhancing gradient. Without that, looks like mid to upper teens hit near 20 peaks around happy hour for these sites, skies becoming mostly sunny at Cascade Locks.

Sat, Jul 26 2014
Heating up with light winds overall early. Jones Beach reaching pm WNW low 20's, Stevenson and the Corridor near to low 20's, the Near East, mid to upper teen, late day WNW peaks. The East sees light winds may turn faintly E -NE. The North Coast reaching NNW low 20's, the Central Coast solid low to mid 20's, and the South Coast, extra solid mid to upper 20's. WNW 3 ft. @ 15 seconds, mixed S 1 ft., South.

Sun, Jul 27 2014
The heat keeps climbing....Jones Beach reaching WNW solid low 20's, Stevenson and the Corridor also solid low 20's- chance for higher, West Gorge. Near East, WNW upper teen to near 20 peaks, light out East. The North Coast reaching upper teen to near 20's, Central to South Coast low to mid 20's NW winds. W swell 3 ft., mixed S 1 ft., South.
