I have heard changes were made in 2013-14 model years to satisfy European market complaints of instability, but really for the rider with a weight around 175 and wants a dedicated kick ass wave kite, please consider bringing them back.

Mine are already showing age and I shudder to think of going back to RPM's for the waves, as good as they are...

Not to mention its damn near impossible to find new OR used 2012 Rallys in 6- 10-12m sizes...

This kite is a classic and deserves to be back on the market.

I have a 2012 14 that is one of the best big kites so far. Quick for as big and stable enough for me at 210 lbs. I have the 7 and 10 2013 and love them so far. Nice mix of the old and new aspects!!

Agreed the 2014 14m is very good LW kite. The 12m would be my choice for a replacement of my 14m!

Graphics are the best yet, for sure.

The 10, 12 and 14 have significantly more power than the size would indicate, making for huge lofty jumps. I was surprised how fast I was overpowered on the 10.

That said the still lack the speed and feel of the 2012. Personal taste... I still like my old Eclipse thruster for its turning speed.

I like a light, fast wave kite, and the 2012's are the best I have tried.

Unless you're boosting hard or doing kite loops, the 2012 Rally is pretty good. The wingtip flex doesn't seem too bad as long as you don't look at the kite.

Yeah, I think it was a situation where the 70% of owners who loved the kite, were not nearly as loud as the 10% who complained about wingtip stability. (that other 20% doesn't care either way.)

So, since complaints carry more weight than accolades, they had to redesign to avoid a bad reputation. That 2012 14M was the best large kite I've ever flown. I didn't mind lightwind days...because I never felt like I owned a lightwind kite!

seems to me that if you want the feel f the 2012 14m
get a 2014 12m and put the rear lines on the back attachment points and it will be right there, if that is not close enough get the longer bar and it will pivot turn as well with the light bar pressure
and still make a better carving turn and loop

IMO YMMV

Agreed, that's the way to go.
Order the new 12M with the 23"x27M bar.

The new 14M is a great LW kite, but is not your wave solution.
The new 12M works fine.

The 2012s don't unhook or kiteloop well. Get the RPM for all around abilities...That's just a fact. But as a pure wave kite they simply have the best drifting and response I have ever felt.

Maybe make them again as a wave specific kite like the Cab Drifter...

I know there's a brand vs brand taboo here but since you're talking about a kite that no longer exists maybe I'm not too far over the barrier....apologies if I am.

You may want to demo a 2013 Catalyst if you can. I only have a 14M but it reminds me a lot of the 2012 Rally which I had before. Drifty & quick turning. No wing flutter under load. I haven't tried any other kites that were as similar.

I was really lit up on my new 10m 2014 Rally today in 25-35 mph winds, and it is much more responsive than my 2012 10m Rally, allowing much higher boosting. I don't understand these reviews saying the 2014 turns slower, as it loops on a dime.

The 2012's are my favorite surf kite.
Last year, I paid more for my 2012 6m/8m/10m Rally's than I would have for the same in 2013.
I am 190. 6'5" wide surfboard.
Never has folded up or buckled. Loops tight or arcs. Powered or not.
It does recover from an over extended drift, or intentional backstall, on command.
Love it.

My 2013 12m is my lightwind kite. My 15m Rev isn't that much better, on the water anyway; snow might be different.

I am going to have the kite modified at a local sail loft here.
Why keep it instead of replace? Why not?
I'll post the results.

Bob, at Kiteriders LLC in Madison, WI knew how special the kite was. He bought a bunch. Not sure what is left. No 10m for sure though. One of his riders was ogling mine last Tuesday.

Nak, I have an unused 2012 8m Rally kite/bar. How about a trade for your slightly used 10m kite/bar, plus some cash?

2 models old. Better make better deals than that or just keep an eye out on here and you will pay what you should. Dealers get 2013 stuff cheaper than he is retailing it to us. This is what happens when u r the only shop in p town.

This is a site to hook a brotha up. Charge Industry prices and Along with that take your reply to the industry section!!
