iKitesurf has a link so you can vote where a new sensor will be placed.
If you have an ikitesurf account and kite at Sauvie's please vote.

Here is the link: http://www.ikitesurf.com/siteVote.iws

From iKitesurf...
New Site Vote
Vote for the Site where you would most want to see a new wind sensor! The costs of installing and running wind sensors are significant, but, on occasion, we will attempt to finance new ones. When the time comes to install one, we will consider your valuable input given here. One person, one vote. And, you can change your vote at any time. Thank you

iwindsurf has stated in the past that they would spend the money for a Suavies sensor , but have not been able to get a local to agree to let them install the gear on their property near suavies.

I forget who, but someone was working with the DEQ and iKitesurf to use their sensor there at the entrance of kite beach. Here is the link if you have not seen it yet:

They can't even get the sea-hag at the Manzo no-tell/motel to plug the thing in! No way they're going to pay off some island crevelar to host a sensor. Razz

Between the Fremont and Scabjuice (and the trees outside my house)..SI is covered. I want Manzo back on-line!

Don't forget the Sauvies sensor on nwwind.net (click on "Wind Sensors" at the top of the page.) Though I would say add a few knots to get the on the water wind speed, it seems to be another good indicator.

I think the Fremont is the best though, and updated most frequently too.

I-405 bridge is probably the best indicator, along with the Presure Report from iKitesurf. Presure should be .04 or better between Astoria and PDX but have rode on .03 increasing days.

The tripcheck links changed yesterday, here are the new ones

What we need is a sensor for The Dangler. In fact, PKH we need a whole page dedicated. I would like to see maps charting his movement from day to day, along with stats....how many dangles, port vs. starboard, how many launch/land assists, board rescues, etc.

C'mon, let's get some info we can use!

The D rocks, SO hard.

Snap!

For those of you in the know, can you direct the newbies of the forum to the original DANGLER beginnings and history of the DANGLER legend? I can't find the original posts. Thank you, Tonski

Thanks KiteKarl -great story. Strange, though, I met who I know now is the DANGLER at Stevenson two weekends ago and he was very friendly and polite. Maybe he's reformed. Smile

I work in the Rose Quarter and look out my window (all day sometimes) at the Fremont. It beckons as I write this. Just another hour or two of corporate face time and I'm on my way.

You must have met mark on land, add water and he flips personalities. Lots of windsurfers very happy he's now into kiting (maybe someone could give him a surfboard - love to see what happened if he was in a line-up)
