quick question:
I'm thinking of traveling this winter. i want to go somewhere where I don't need a wetsuit, and there's consistently good kiting AND surfing (traveling with a friend). I can't think of anywhere except Hawaii. any other suggests... |

| Padre, Dominican Republic, Brazil, South Pacific....lots of places where your dollar can go farther than Hawaii once you are there. |

Northern NSW/QLD is always good.
Byron Bay is lots of fun.

I was thinking of Costa Rica, but is the kiting any good? I was there for 6 weeks one summer before I kited, and I can't remember any onshores...
Brazil is a cool idea, I hadn't thought of that. Caribbean (la ventana/DR) would be nice, but it seems like you could get skunked for waves if you were only there for a week...
Aus would be too far to travel, unfortunately. Thanks for the ideas.
Where do people kite in Brazil? |

| If you have a couple of weeks Brazil is a great option. Pretty much guaranteed wind and cheap once you are there. There are multiple threads on this forum as well as kiteforum on locations etc... Briefly you fly into Fortaleeza (easier said then done...) then go to Cumbuco and start from there... Search on the forums and you will get all the info you need. |

| While I have only been to the DR in May in the past I can say that the waves were good when the wind was not. There is a spot that is more or less surfing dedicated not far from Cabarette towards Puerta Plata and it's called........um... |
