What is the conclusion from Saturday's Kiteboard for Cancer? Last man riding well was on a Slingshot Turbine 17 and ??? Foilboard. Is that the best lightwind gear combo or just impressive skill from rider?

Honestly, although I am not a Slingshot dealer, I say this with no biased on the brand, but Fred is really, really damn good at what he does.
He is supremely dialed in with his gear, and the course was his home turf, exactly where he learned to foil and develops his skills every day.

Fred was on the Slingshot (Moses) 590 front wing. It's referred to as a "cruiser" for it's forgiving lightwind ability to keep you up on-foil at near zero forward speed... but I swear one could also win some drag races. Carvy too. Only downside?.... It does not like contact with those d*mn rocks upwind of the sandbar. Future CGKA work party Smile
Slingshot/Mose also make a 630 which simply look huge. A batwing.

The Turbine pulls like a truck in the smaller sizes. I couldn’t imagine what a 17m Turbine would feel like.
Then put Fred on that kite and there is nobody who can ride when he can. Even the ram/air/foil guys/gals couldn’t keep riding when Fred could on Saturday. I am not saying that those guys/gals on the racing setups aren’t good because they are amazing.
Fred has the Hood River scene dialed in like nobody else. Add a super powerful kite and you have a winning combination. Like G-Man states “your results will vary”.

I do ride Slingshot kites, and foils. They are amazing. That was all Fred though. The guy is a machine, and super fun to watch.
