take the 5 about 3 hours north of you guys, we're getting wind and warm temps.
pretty amazing week to say the least.
tuesday brought a cold front and snowkiting conditions
wednesday starts with a morning session at the local ski resort with over a foot of new snow followed by an afternoon water session that brought warmer temps in the upper 50's.
thursday another 7m day on the water with warmer temps and water in the mid 40s range.
friday another warm 7m day on the lake.
saturday take the day off for editing photos and video...
and today a double session on the lake with some of the warmest january temps ever in the seattle area.
not trying to rub it in, but wanted to show some images of kiting from this week.

This is awsome. I can hardly wait to get in this sport.
I was supposed to drive up to Seattle this weekend and practice sailing on a Melges 24 that is new to Seattle (IRL 417). We agreed that it was to windy for a "first spinnaker sail" so bagged it.
But look at the kites ) _________________ Someday I will sell everything, invest in a 50ft sailboat, then turn left at the Columbia River Bar . |

in the winter months, I can kite 3-5 days a week, but mid december to first of january were too cold. temps in the 30s.
the past week temps in the mid 50's made for a nice warm experience. water still cold though.
I've kited 6 out of the last 7 days.
in seattle kiteboarding is an all year sport.
in winter, we tend to use our smaller kites and summer use big kites. _________________ www.jimstringfellow.com |
