It's ironic - when I lived in Hood River my electricity came from coal- and gas-fired plants in Hermiston. Now I live in Silicon Valley and my power comes from windmills in the Gorge. (Personally I prefer using less to building more).

Last summer if you remember it was a good year for swell on the river. I noticed it about the time I was reading about the dams throttling back their production as the windmills came online. Coincidence?
