More bad news at Lyle.

RR cop is there today taking photos of people crossing tracks, cars parked, etc.

He told a friend of mine that they will be putting up No Trespassing signs in a week or two and doing patrols 2-3 times (per week or day.. didn't get the exact wording) and handing out $100 fines.

Is there any recourse? My understanding is that it can be legal as long as there is a crossing gate, similar to what's at Doug's. How did windsurfers get this gate installed?

there already is a no trespassing sign there...

you don't have to cross the tracks...just go under the bridge.

I've walked the trail that leads to the RR bridge over the Klickitat. At that point, it's a 20ft vertical drop to deep water. I didn't see any way to walk down to water level, or any crossable land underneath that bridge. Maybe you're referring to another spot? Have you done this before? Maybe I've only seen it at high water.

Bummer.....I say it's time to hit Rowena as already stated last week. Yeah...it's not perfect. Gusty and rocky launch but very doable for competent riders especially if there are other kiters there to help out. I kited there alone Wednesday. Check it out.

Has anyone gotten a ticket yet? It seems like the signs have not deterred anyone yet.
