Danger Will Robinson! The water level at the dam has gone up over four feet in the last hour. Current time 1042. Rooster tends to lag an hour or two... Anyone leaving gear on the beach in the next 30 to 60 minutes might end up with your gear washing away.

Good heads up NAK,

Is that showing actual flow thru the dam or is it pooling at the sensor due to strong east winds etc...

Don't see anyone out - such a waste of good wind at these chilly temps

Anything left on the beach this morning would most likely land around my place in Corbett Wink

Mc

My understanding is that it's the water level at a sensor below the dam. I use it year round to watch the water level for boating & kiting west of the dam. Always pretty accurate except for time lag, the further west the bigger the lag obviously. Also, big changes tend to dampen out by PDX. Rooster won't see a full four feet rise, I don't think. But two or three feet for sure.

Water level still going up at the dam; up to a 4.5 foot rise. Still no change at Rooster though...

Still no change at Rooster. Very weird? The water level below the dam went up almost 5 feet... This last Summer that would have translated to that beach on the cam disappearing. Maybe the rest of the river is low enough that the current is increasing but not so much the level? Sorry for the false alarm. Gotta be some ripping current though...

I've been looking at the cam every 3 hrs or so today. It appears to me that the water level rose a bit and there is a little less beach.

This is where I get my river data. May be the same site.
