Hello my name is Bryce and I am new to town in Hood River looking for a group of people to kite with and ride some different spots. Moved from Jupiter Florida and am planning on kiteboarding and working all summer. Employed at full sail. Also looking for apartment or room for rent if avaliable! Also like snowboarding and would like to find people to go shred the mountain with.

Dude, hopefully you have a car. Just get in your car and explore the various launches that are not in Hood River. A hint, it is early season and so most of your kiting when needing a car will be east of HR anywhere from 8 to 86 miles east of HR.

As long as you're not an ass and or danger to others at the launch site and or on the water, you'll make friends. And having extra cold beer to share sure doesn't hurt.

Checkout Rufus and Rowena if HR isn’t good. Spring is great out east and they are windier and a bit warmer without all the snowmelt rivers like HR. Launch from the cove at the east end at Rowena since the rocks are slippery. Bushes make a perfect windbreak if the river is high and you need to drift launch though it’s never over waist deep, with usually a beach to rig on. Some good flatwater in there too, the only downside is in August it gets a bit weedy. Supposedly a work party was set to build a gravel beach but it’s never happened

CGWA has a sheet made that shows all the launches and relative info, you can find it at any of the shops in town

If it's sunny drive west, if it's cloudy drive east.
