Possible Rooster day Sunday. East winds there start off early and strong. If it's too windy in the morning for you wait for a few hours and hang with the Viet Schlong until it dials back to 12M.

Manzanita was 8m yesterday, probably 7m today and 9m tomorrow. Fort Stevens will likely be 9m today. With 4' swell it should be amazing except for the Hood to Coast traffic in Seaside. Use hwy 30 if you can

I'm headed west from Hood River on Sunday morning with four board options and 8-12m kites, does Fort Stevens still look like the best bet? Hope to avoid the Hood to Coast cluster farther south. Other options could include foiling closer to PDX. I'll also have my sports camera with me, hope to capture some action near shore (no waterproof housing).

Saw someone pics of ft Stevens today. Looked sick. Wave faces were glassy. So jealous!

PostSun Aug 27, 17 4:44 pm    What's up With HR Wind Reply with quote

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at coming up from Ventura, CA to HR to go kiteboarding and getting some lessons for my GF. Based on Wind on the Water it looks like there is zero wind in HR right now at the event site. Then I'm seeing the Rooster is blowing... Was looking at doing an Air B&B in HR, but if the wind is dead out east I'll just base out of Vancouer (where the folks live) and try and drive to rooster/hike the gorge.

Thoughts for the forecast this weekend?

Thanks in Advance!
