TO DONATE:
Use http://www.PayPal.com to send to: pholmstr@gmail.com
Subject = "HR Slider"

some people on this site and around the NW have shown some interest in sliders lately

to make this possible a slider has been designed

a slider constructed to safely, and stylishly, to accomadate the bumps, falls, and progession of a first time slider; or a
long, smooth backside boardslide to 270 off, of a pro

now it needs funded
phillip has agreed to help by putting a link to his paypal acct, and will keep track of the progress
projected cost is $1000, but possibly lower with discounted or donated materials
any surplus will go towards the nw kite party fund or another rail or mini ramp (whatever everybody votes on or something)

the kicker is in safe storage and will be back out this summer
we won't know of the exact placement of either feature until this spring, once mother nature is finished shaping the sand
to her liking

both are easy to move since they float
we can switch them fairly often for people who prefer to hit it goofy or reg
the slider will be built in three, self contained sections that could serve as three seperate 20 ft mini rails
here is a sketch
the size may go to 16 ft links for cost purposes, but will make the entry and exit angles a little steeper
the height is only three feet and it will be completley sheeted with plywood, so it is as safe as possible

sounds good to me..

I'm in. reminds me of a slider I built back in the wakeboarding days...
we had three parts as well, and we would anchor the first section a few feet back from the rail so we could gap to it.

count me in.

haha, I will kick in some dough for sure but that logo is worth at least a $100 from me. Not sure that's what Joby had in mind though. Wink

gives the idea, what about getting the shops to kick in? I bet they would if you could get their logos on the thing....

I'm in, even if i don't hit it, it will be fun to watch... do we just run this until there's enough money in there? or do we set a date and get refunds if we don't hit it? think any HR shops would kick in some?

Alright, just sent in my 50 bucks. What's the total collected so far?

If you need any help building it, I'd be down and I'll bring beer!

Now I just need a wake style board to hit that thing with. Any one know of a LF Mission 144 for sale? And some Union or Era bindings for a 10.5 foot?

I've never hit a slider without getting really fucked up, though I've only tried on my wake skate at the Cable Lake down in Texas. Maybe it will be easier when I'm attached to the board.
