Three years, thousands of dollars, unknown man hours = 1 session. Lol

Totally worth it!

Johns snow bike is smooth with easy sidehilling. I knew better than to try it... now I want one.

Yeah. I'd say I've gone snowmobiling 12 to 15 times in the last year while looking to snowkite. Mt. hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. bachelor, White pass wa, and a couple undisclosed locations. Sunday was the first day I would call a true success. A few others were kite-ish but no lofty jumps were possible. Jumps on Sunday were lofty though I didn't attempt any sailing down of major slopes, but that was available for the taking. I'm anxiously awaiting the next chance to go.

What do you consider affordable? I saw a complete set up a few weeks ago going for $5500.00. There is one in Spokane going for $6300. Keep in mind this is peek session.

I imagine this summer kits and complete setups will be lower.

That's what we've been trying for! Way to get it John! Almost like winning the Powerball! Lots of rain hitting that area right now. How much snow on the road?

There's 5 ft of snow on the road past the snow park.

I sold my sled couple weeks ago with the plan to get a Timber Sled. I'm taking this winter off to catch up on work and didn't want it sitting around, but will be buying a Timber Sled to attach to one of my dirt bikes heading into next winter.

I'm demoing one tomorrow, but my mind is already made up. My sled friends are all saying that they're having way more fun, and you can ride a lot closer to the car and still have fun (Meaning, pack some snowshoes in a small pack and ride by yourself, or even trail ride).

The one thing they don't do well is shuttling as they just don't have the power and track to carry that much load. But the relatively light weight and maneuverability makes the trade off worth it, as they can still get up some pretty steep slopes thanks to being able to zigzag up a hill. After sledding for several years now, shuttling just became a PITA that I didn't want to mess with. It's just as fun to ride the sled down the slope and off cliffs, and you don't waste all day shuttling.

The Timber Sleds are sweet because for the price of a new sled, you get a decent dirt bike for Summer fun, and something to rip ass around on all Winter.

I was flipping back and forth whether to get a timber sled this Fall. I'm done racing my heavily modified 505XCF (just getting too old for that kind of damage and kids aren't racing now, so I don't really need a race bike). I thought long and hard about it before selling my bike. Really seemed like a too-good-to-be-true deal (Timber Sled). Kinda wishing I would have kept my bike now...damnit.

However, a new bike (with FI), really seems to lend itself to this kind of silliness. Might have to come up with a new plan. I was going to replace my Beta trials bike this Summer with a new Beta, but perhaps something in orange and a Timber Sled might be a better plan...
