It looks like it will be a great weekend to get soaking wet and watch some bad ass mother f*!kin nature show us who is the boss. May go kite westport or Belfair, wind will be a touch less gusty their or just brave it and hit kings road in Warrenton. Do some kiting in Youngs Bay, old windsurfers stomping ground. I always day dream about jumping over the flat road part of the bridge into the giant bay of butter water on the other side, but its just that, a day dream, I dont need to make out with a passing semi truck mid air........

...HAZARDOUS BEACH CONDITIONS THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND...

HURRICANE OHO CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTH OVER THE PACIFIC AND WILL
REMAIN WELL OFFSHORE AS IT TRANSITIONS INTO AN EXTRA TROPICAL
SYSTEM LATER THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

A LARGE SOUTHWEST SWELL GENERATED BY THE STORM IS EXPECT TO ARRIVE
IN THE COASTAL WATERS BY LATE THURSDAY NIGHT OR EARLY FRIDAY. THIS
SWELL WILL BE THE SOURCE OF THE PRIMARY CONCERN FOR THE SOUTH
WASHINGTON AND NORTH AND CENTRAL OREGON COASTS THIS WEEKEND. WITH
THE SWELL REACHING 14 FEET ON FRIDAY...THE THREAT OF BREAKING
WAVES OVER JETTIES AND SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES WILL
EXIST...ALONG WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF GENERATING SIGNIFICANT SURF.
A SWELL OF THIS DIRECTION AND MAGNITUDE IS SOMEWHAT UNCOMMON...AND
THESE WAVES MAY ALSO RESULT IN BEACH EROSION IN AREAS THAT DO NOT
COMMONLY SEE IMPACT FROM INCOMING WAVES.

Rain. High near 62. Windy, with a south wind around 34 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

HA! Saturday morning is the 10k Columbia crossing run, so you won't have to worry about semi trucks, just hundreds of runners/spectators.

If you do attempt the jump, preform something like a simple, yet steezy, Roast
Beef grab. This should afford you one free hand at times; before and after your grab you can wave and smile to the crowd and cameras.

Yep, it sounds like whitewash, mush-burger haven with the waves this weekend. Lots of current surge and lots of water moving around.

Be careful out there.

You never know to you go!

Generally victory at sea, but every once and while...

HAHAHA I've always liked the slow rolling 360 with a one handed finger shoot and a *wink*

Might be a good weekend to leave town with a bizillion runners in town, but if I stay I get to watch them get soaked and blown sideways while I eat popcorn....hhmmmm choices....

The race is actually Sunday this year...(I thought it was Saturday, so glad it's not). And it's across the Astoria Megler Bridge (at 4.1 miles it's the longest continuous truss bridge in North America) not the Young's Bay Bridge. So I say go for it!

Well Youngs Bay wind was a NO go but ft stevens was going off!! Crazy guts, a few unwanted loftings and tea bagging from random super high gusts. Was fun, lots of big air and a few free falls from lulls that had me kicking my board off.

got there little before noon and rode till 1:30 then wind disappeared fast, was bummed, having a blast till then. Went from 40's to low teens in only 20 minutes. TT on the river side, stayed out of the ocean with those winds. Add 5mph to the clatsop sensor gusts readings its always off. The astoria Megler Bridge is fairly accurate.
