Hey Peeps,

Still bonie out near the usual riding spots, but still plenty of rad kiting within two hours of Camas Prairie. Above 6500' Wells Summit, Craters of the Moon, Ririe, Phatom Hill, Island Park, Bondurant, Wy all have good coverage. Looks like a low pressure system pushing through next week.

Prey for snow, see you out there!

Conditions update # 2, Lots of wind and sun, not so much in the snow department.

Stay tuned if you're thinking of coming out. I'd like to save people their time and money if it doesn't improve!

Gman, keep sending those Nelcott pics, missing those big coast days.

Noah--How about you make a road trip and bring some of the Cold Smoke down south with ya. We're hurting down here. 1 Snowkite session this winter, grrrrr! Mad
Good thing Belize Kitesurf trip is coming up or I'd go stark raving mad. Drunk

Hi All ,
10th Snow Kite Rodeo
There's some here over in Montana . Had a good afternoon at Big Hole .
Hopefully Mt Haggin tomorrow , whatever there's a lot of kiters here and it's a gas .
Had a real good dip in the Jackson Lodge hot springs , nice , 103*
Met more kiters from all over . Several beginners too .
I had intended to go to PBR as well but now this lack of snow thing ........
The Alaska kite jam is sounding real good . Mountain Kiting , yah ! It's another great experience .

PostMon Feb 18, 13 1:38 pm    Official Final Update, Reply with quote

As the promoter, I want to clarify that the PBR event has been cancelled due to lack of snowpack. If you are seeking powder snowkiting, I suggest other places such as WY, UT, MT. Please update your "Going" status on Facebook, if you have changed your mind to not attend. I'd like to keep the small town informed of how many people to expect. Otherwise we will drink the town dry.

As of today we have firm riding conditions, with a dusting of new snow. Tuesday's forecast could bring a few more inches, making conditions worthwhile.

For those who are still coming, we will session the giant kicker and BBQ afterwards, and have a small gathering at the SMR. In other words we will make the best out of it!

Thank you, and hope to see you on the snow this upcoming weekend.

PostTue Feb 19, 13 7:33 pm    weekend plans? Reply with quote

Pretty solid forecast for the non event weekend.
It's currently snowing (PBR imprint is almost gone), and calling for 3"-5 friday night.

Not using any adjectives like "amazing, epic, blower". But I think mother nature is throwing us a bone!

NW Winds next five days.

Wednesday: Finish shaping kicker.

Just a few things in store for this weekend!

Saturday Night Feb 23rd, A Special Dinner at the Iron Mtn Inn- Pot Roast, Salad, Baked Potatoe and a cold PBR of course! Just $10.00 for kiters!

Followed by the "Best Chaps" contest. Hint: Start saving those empty PBR boxes!

See you on the snow!

Figures, cancelled the event from lack of snow, the friday night we got a dump and conditions were strong all weekend. Thanks for showing up for a non event weekend anyways. Brave Dave (Slingshot), Falline sports (Airush), Boise crew (KiteSites.com) , Portland crew, Czech crew, Polish crew, Ken Lucas and Monica (Cabrinha), SV crew, and the others for swing through. If anyone has pics post them up.

Don't forget Jerry at the Iron Mountain Inn for an excellent dinner. The guy served up a pot roast and spuds that was out of this world. Oh, and Fireball shots for desert.
