This is just about the same time I kited past it following up on your comments from another post earlier this week. Everything looked normal. I went away thinking the problem was that bird was some kind of protected species and it was calving season. Had this problem many times on bridges in my former life in WSDOT (Wa.St). Could not do any bridge maintenance when the Peregrines were nesting.

I emailed ikitesurf and they said they couldn't mess with the sensor until the
Ospreys were done nesting. Guess they found a workaround! Nice

We apologize for the problems with the Jones Beach Light 8A sensor. We're having communications issues related to a very weak cell signal. We plan to perform some systems upgrades to improve cell transmitter strength on our end. Unfortunately, the sensor is also located on a nav aid that plays host to a happy little family of osprey. Due to federal regulations, we're prohibited from accessing the nav aid during nesting season. We plan to visit the sensor for repairs ASAP (probably in early September once the osprey young have flown the coop).

We do apologize for the inconvenience for this important sensor and please know that we're just as frustrated as you with the situation.

Thank you!
the WeatherFlow Team

a sensor is always cool, especially if you have year over year data so you can put the puzzle together on how the spot works. Id be super into it if they did a forecast that was a little more thorough for coast to portland. maybe someone like gorgeismygym will fire that up

Gotta join the club. Its a iKitesurf exclusive. Sucks but an accurate forecast will pay its self off in just one skunk saver.
