I know, I know..we're a million miles away, but if by chance you find youself around the Madison, Wi. area during this event, look us up.

We do not have mountains.
We do not have an ocean nearby.
We do not get snowfalls by the feet week in week out.

But...we do have spotted cows.

yea boy...that's worth the trip in and of itself.

Kiteridersllc.com and the Madtown kite crew would like to invite you to come and join the fun on Feb 20th (21st...back up date if needed) for the second annual Madtown Snowkite Gathering.

When: Feb 20th...21st is the back up date if no wind on Saturday. 10:00 - 4:00.

Who: Anyone who likes kites, riding on snow, ice or water or anyone just curious about the sport.

What: Racing and Freestyle and demos from Cabrinha, Slingshot and Epic kites. Everything is free. Come and compete, ride, watch, etc. Also...free intro lessons on kite flying provided by UW-Hoofers snowkite club.

Where: One of the main Madison lakes. Location will be determined a few days before the event and is determined by wind direction. Keep posted for details.

Why: 'Cuz.

Last year we were blessed with incredible snow and winds. Let's hope for more of the same.

1) Schedule of events yet to be determined.
2) Competition is rider judged with terrain features (jumps/rails) and prizes will go to the top riders as judged by the riding crew.
3) Racing will be skiers against skiers and snowboarders against snowboarders.
4) All events are free. We may ask for donations to help cover insurance costs and any additional proceeds will go to the Haiti relief efforts.
5) Saturday night party. We'll all go to a local brew pub afterward to celebrate and talk about the days events and give out swag from the manufacturers.
6) If by chance we get NO WIND or the conditions suck and we officially have to cancel the event, I'm working on getting discounted lift tickets at Tyrol basin in MT Horeb. We can have a cook out and party on the top deck after a day of riding on Saturday. If you haven't been to Tyrol, they have a great terrain park. Fun place to ski and snowboard.

Sturgeon Stampede one weekend...Madtown Snowkite Gathering the next weekend. Doesn't get much better than that.

Let's make this a great event.

Stay tuned for more info.

Due to a lame forecast with little to no wind, we are canceling the Madtown Snowkite Gathering event for this weekend (feb 20th - 21st).

There's a chance we may reschedule for next weekend, so stay tuned for more info. Looks like the wind gods are just not on our side this time around.
