IMO, the Airush Crest are one of the best foils on the market right now. Reason being is that they are close cell foils, as you may know this keeps the kite more stable and reduces the collapsing tendency in lighter wind. Airush recieves huge input and R&D from Jerome Jesserand, think of him as the "Chasta on Skis". He has the world record for highest snowkiting glides (1500').

There are so many opinions on what's better for snow: Foils or Tube kites!

My thoughts are:

Tube Kites are perfect for-

Park and Ride spots
Freestyle (unhooking)
Jumping
gusty conditions
Speed

Foils kites are perfect for-

Throw and go rigging***
Big MTN, backcountry,
Superlight wind
wind range
Gliding

The Outback and Crest are available now, we have a 6m Outback for Demo. The 10, 12.5 Crest would be perfect for 9-22kts snowkiting.

Thanks for the heads up on your foil kites and the offer to demo. Can't wait for you to have the larger kites to tryout. Very Generous.

How do they compare to the same size tubed kite for turning?
What's the learning curve?
Is the smaller one a lot faster turning ?
I'm just looking for a kite to tow up on
thks in advance

What about flysurfer foils ?
They have been around for quite some time .
Serious good riders on their team as well .
I have a 2005 model extacy and it sucks !
The new ones are much more kite but very expensive .

Yo, Blowhard

They turn a lot different than a tube kites, more sliding, and they don't pivot as tight. Over all bit slower. As for the learning curve, it's just different timing on the load up. Yes the smaller sizes are alot faster but you really need the low end.

I'm still a riding tube kites on snow because I can't afford the five kite quiver, but it would be nice to have a foil for backcountry riding.

Laters!

yeah newer flysurfers are great foils.

My favorites were the pulse 2 10m 12m, Speed 2 12m and Psycho 4 15m.

pulse 2 was the best for gusty winds since it was the lowest aspect and the most stable.

peter lynn arc's are also great foils if you don't mind bar pressure
