So not sure if everybody knows what happened with Dimitri Mariminides in the past 6 months. Long story short, he got tired of the way Eclipse Kiteboarding was running, specifically with product delivery.
We at BKB fell victim to that as well, and had an incredibly difficult time getting the product we needed from Eclipse. The kites are amazing, we just couldn't get as many as we needed.
SO.... Dimitri decided he didn't want to work so hard to represent kites that people couldn't get, so he starting his own independent company.
He went back to the original designer of the Eclipse kites who wanted to support Dimitri's vision, and they got to work on the successor to the Thruster.
In less than 6 months he has gone from his vision, to getting kites in the air.
These are the proto-types, of which 2 will be here next week so we can give them a spin.
Overall, I am just super impressed that Dimitri is doing the impossible, and doing it so quickly!
I loved the Eclipse Kites, but joined up with them because of Dimitri and his work as a kiteboarding ambassador.
Way to go Dimitri!
Now that he has his own company, I am very excited to see him succeed.
