If we're talking park and ride...no sleds...here's what I know.. If we get a good snow around PDX you can get a taste at places like Willamette Park, Blue Lake Park, and I think there is some potential of HWY 26 in the Hillsboro area. Within 2 hours you have Dalles Mtn and surrounding peaks. Some other Gorge rim spots and HR valley spots that I have never tried. There's Timberline to the left of Palmer. And as the SOKA crew has just reminded us, some goodness down south in the Ashland area. Last winter the coast range seemed to hold it's pack forever...but I have no idea. perryj Since 28 Nov 2007 374 Posts Casually Obsessed Tue Oct 20, 2009 7:38 pm     Anyone tried Powell Butte when the snow is that low? Does Goldendale airport close in the winter? What is the story with Camas? The highway has a ton of snow drift barriers. Guessing there is a good amount of snow and wind then. We were around La Grande/ Baker City. Yeah, both times I drove to ID last winter, North Powder looked awesome! That's right in between LaGrande and Baker City at the turn off to Anthony Lakes. The East wind was cranking right up the foothills there and you could see access roads from I-84.
