Hi, a friend of mine just got a brand new bar and when we were working together on self rescue I noticed the bar went all the way to the kite. I assume that this is not what one wants? She claims she has a manual with some spare parts. Should there be a stopper of sorts that we have to set up ourselves?

Thanks!

Yo spaceracer. Long time no see!!! Hope all is well.

Hey I think that is standard on all slingshot bars. I haven't tested on the sentry, but generally on a slingshot bar there are two points when you pull your safety.

The first point sends your bar out about 12 or so feet. Enough to depower your kite.

However, if you really load up your kite before you pull your safety it will shoot past the first point. Once your bar has passed this point it has the ability to go all the way to the kite.

Really depends upon the force taking place before the ejection.

Either way your kite is depowered. But, definitely easier to access your bar at 12 or so feet rather than having to climb all the way to your kite if you want to re-launch and ride again.

I spliced in a line stop made out of Q-line. It's pretty easy to do and can be removed. It does shorten the line enough that you need to re-tune your line lengths back to equal.
