Managed to get a snowkite session on Monday.

While snowbike season has been in full swing for a month, snowkite season has just begun.

What kind of board is that? Maybe it's just the photo but the shape looks really weird to me...

The Lib Tech T. Rice Banana Hammock Snowboard is for serious powder lovers only! Travis Rice's pow stick from Lib Tech. This is unlike any other snowboard out there, with an twin ovalized shape, kinda like a surfboard.

The BANANA HAMMOCK kills the pow in either direction. Wide reverse sidecut at your bindings eliminates binding drag in the steep powder. Unless all you do is ride red discs, hike or heli, this should be your second board.
Key Features of Lib Tech Banana Hammock HP Snowboard:
Tip-To-Tail “powder" rocker (TTTR)
Twin geometries
Ovalized “drag free" centralized flotation shape
Axis inversion fiberglass
Bio beans top sheet
Sintered base
Flex: 7
Waist: 30.5
Travis' pow blaster
Twin Pow Freestyle Excels: in pow
Epic: pow float, landings & turns

Great shape - for soft snow& really surfy in deep powder!

Downside is the board is skatey & horrible in hardpack. Like John sez - really good 2nd board

For snowkiting where you are on edge most of the time it seems just as good as any board on hard pack.

The theory is for snowkiting reverse cut tracks straighter and is less fatiguing.

This is in Goldendale near Indian Rock. There's plenty of information on NWKITE so I'm not going retype information that already available.
